چکیده

Several algorithms, namely CubeMiner, Trias, and DataPeeler, have been recently proposed to mine closed patterns in ternary relations. We consider here the specific context where a ternary relation denotes the value of a graph adjacency matrix at different timestamps. Then, we discuss the constraint-based extraction of patterns in such dynamic graphs. We formalize the concept of δ-contiguous closed 3-clique and we discuss the availability of a complete algorithm for mining them. It is based on a specialization of the enumeration strategy implemented in Data-Peeler. Indeed, clique relevancy can be specified by means of a conjunction of constraints which can be efficiently exploited. The added-value of our strategy is assessed on a real dataset about a public bicycle renting system. The raw data encode the relationships between the renting stations during one year. The extracted δ-contiguous closed 3-cliques are shown to be consistent with our domain knowledge on the considered city.

Classification and Comparison of Methods for Discovering Coverage Loss Areas in Wireless Sensor Networks

In recent years, wireless sensor networks data is taken into consideration as an ideal source, in terms of speed, accuracy and cost, in order to study the Earth's surface. One of the most important challenges in this area, is the signaling network coverage and finding holes. In recent years, wireless sensor networks data is taken into consideration as an ideal source, in terms of speed, accurac...

Mining Constrained Cross-Graph Cliques in Dynamic Networks

Three algorithms — CubeMiner, Trias, and Data-Peeler — have been recently proposed to mine closed patterns in ternary relations, i.e., a generalization of the so-called formal concept extraction from binary relations. In this paper, we consider the specific context where a ternary relation denotes the value of a graph adjacency matrix (i. e., a Vertices × Vertices matrix) at different timestamp...

Sublinear-Space Bounded-Delay Enumeration for Massive Network Analytics: Maximal Cliques

Due to the sheer size of real-world networks, delay and space become quite relevant measures for the cost of enumeration in network analytics. This paper presents efficient algorithms for listing maximum cliques in networks, providing the first sublinear-space bounds with guaranteed delay per enumerated clique, thus comparing favorably with the known literature. 1998 ACM Subject Classification ...

Community Finding: Partitioning Considered Harmful

Considering a clique as a conservative definition of community structure, we examine how partitioning algorithms interact with cliques. We show that on a wide range of empirical networks, from different domains, significant numbers of cliques are split across different partitions by popular algorithms. We examine the largest connected component of the subgraph formed by retaining only edges in ...

Honour Thy Neighbour—Clique Maintenance in Dynamic Graphs

Whenever objects and their interaction is modelled via undirected graphs, it is often of great interest to know the cliques of the graph. For several problems the graph changes frequently over time, and we therefore seek methods for updating the information about the cliques in a dynamic fashion to avoid expensive recomputations. This dynamic problem was investigated by Stix, and in this paper ...
